The Hitchers' have been playing their own style of punk rock'n'roll, much to the delight of audiences nationwide. Capturing the infectious buzz of punk rock with the fun and style of the 1950s rock 'n' roll years, and dispensing the results in short, melodic bursts of energy, they are arguably the most intriguing live act on the scene today. The lads had a busy 2003 gigging up and down the country and putting an album out on Toddler Records, which received excellent reviews from Rocksound (8/10), Kerrang!, and various web-based review centres including CounterCulture. In 2004, they played a live session for Mike Davies' Radio 1 show 'The Lock Up', before heading off to Canada to play the NXNE Festival in Toronto, as well as a handful of other dates around Ontario and Quebec. Having picked up a booking agent stateside, they returned home and quickly found management and more label interest. In 2005 they returned to tour Canada, beginning in Toronto and winding up in Vancouver, covering 5000 miles in 4 weeks. Once again they were successful on the Stateside, and were asked to play the USA east coast dates on the Vans Warped Tour, a real dream come true for them. 2006 saw the band continue to progress with their live shows and songwriting which culminated with a tour of Germany and the release of their 2nd album 'Tees Valley Deadbeats' in 2007. 2009 is going to be exciting so hitch a ride with us. xx
